FOYER
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: HALLWAYS give the puzzle your best shot!

MY STARTING WORD: SPARK
This one nearly knocked me out. I didn’t struggle getting the letters flowing, my problem was getting them in order. SPARK, TROVE, MOREL, BONER, COWER and finally FOYER were my plays. Phew!
Looking at the etymology of our solution, foier literally means “fireplace” in Old French. And a bit earlier, from Latin, we get focarium which means “having to do with the hearth.” Those big old homes of yore with enormous foyers probably had a couple of fireplaces in them. CORD you imagine the work it must’ve taken to keep them burning all night??? I’ll catch you right back here tomorrow!
