TASTY

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: Just try the soup, for CLOYING out loud!

My Gameplay: POWER, CLIMB, SHUNT, TASTY

I’d say 4-guesses isn’t half bad for a Wordle answer with double letters. When my first two word choices didn’t reveal any letters, I did get a little discouraged, but that’s how I figured double letters would be in there. Stay classy. On to tomorrow!

SHIRK

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: DODGE she think I’d just go away?

My Gameplay: LEAST, SWING, SHIRK

Oh what a feeling!!! It probably wouldn’t have been so easy had my solved tiles not been in their correct positions. But, no overthinking it today. I’ll savor the victory. On to tomorrow!

SCOLD

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: Did this Wordle CENSURE blood pressure skyrocketing?

My Gameplay: BLIMP, LOWER, CLOGS, SCOLD

What surprised me most about the way I solved it is the fact that I didn’t use the vowel A. On most days, it is in my favorite opener which is LEAST. Had I used it today, I would’ve had 2-letters at the start, but neither of them in the correct position. There’s no sense in looking back as a 4-guess solve is pretty good in my book. On to tomorrow!

CROSS

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: Her acting was horrible, so IRATE the film a 4.

My Gameplay: SMART, WORDS, CROPS, CROSS

Lot’s of green started pouring out with my guess of CROPS. It always drops my jaw when I think I have it, but the last, or second to last tile reveals a gray letter and I know I’m stuck making another guess. It’s nothing to get CROSS over or anything…. On to tomorrow!

CRAVE

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: Getting rid of her was no BEG deal!

My Gameplay: BOUND, CRIMP, CRAFT, CRAZY, CRAVE

For a minute there, I didn’t think I’d have enough guesses to solve it in the end, but everything turned out A-ok. There’s almost nothing more frustrating than solving the first few letters and having too many leftover letters that create boatloads of viable words left on the board. It always gets me a bit nervous. We’re officially 9-puzzles away from 600. On to tomorrow!

Pun Play: DOUBT you see how fast he dumped her?

Check out my last 3 guesses…. Was I hungry or something??? Happy Sunday, everyone. On to tomorrow!

My Gameplay: TRAMP, WORTH, SKIRT, FLIRT

With only two guesses left, I surely was flirting with disaster on this one. Looking back, I had a feeling that the R & T would be at the end of the layout, and my hunch was correct. Always trust your gut. On to tomorrow!

Wordle Answer for 01/27/2023 (#587)

WORRY

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: If the shoe FRETS, wear it!

My Gameplay: LEAST, PROUD, HONOR, ROCKY, WORRY

WORMY was going to be my choice for the answer before I changed it to WORRY at the last second. there’s nothing better than a little end of the week magic. TGIF everyone! On to tomorrow!

BEEFY

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: She definitely hasn’t HERD the last of me!

My Gameplay: TRAMP, SWUNG, CHIDE, BELLY, BEEFY

Using up available letters on the board was the only way this one was getting solved. I suspect most everyone got the E right away, but figuring out that it needed to be doubled was the real trick. On to tomorrow!
