My Gameplay: CRANE, PRIMP, DRYER, BLOTS, TRYST

My fourth guess, BLOTS, was only used to gobble up some of the tiles still in play. What a boon! It was a breeze after that. TGIF and stay cool everyone. I’m sleeping in (for once) and will be poolside at high noon if anyone cares to join. On to tomorrow!

APHID

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: Don’t tell me you’re SCARAB a tough solve???

My Gameplay: CRANE, HABIT, GLOWS, CAMPY, APHID

Happy Thursday everyone! Yesterday in the comments someone mentioned that they had a difficult time arriving at the solution with the clue word that they chose. I replied that CRANE is the best word to use based on the letters that were used in the previous #396 puzzles. My advice may not have worked today, but I’ll keep using it to see how well it pans out. Oh, I also read somewhere that a person had good luck with AROMA. I’ll stick with CRANE though because it reminds me of the television show Frasier. Happy thoughts can’t be topped. On to tomorrow!

TRITE

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: How DUD you all do?

My Gameplay: CRANE, PRICE, TRIBE, TRIKE, TRITE

I honestly don’t remember the last time I’ve heard TRITE used in a sentence. And if I did hear it, it didn’t make any sort of impact that made me remember it. It’s sort of one of those words that’s slowly fading away which is too bad. The double T’s were a pain to find but I eventually got them so that’s all that counts. A win is a win! On to tomorrow!

ANGRY

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: Did you have to ANGER head in shame?

My Gameplay: SWEAT, DRAIN, VOUCH, ANGRY

It was a pretty easy solved once I took the time to think about the words that could be made from the remaining tiles. VOUCH was played out of ANGER when I was trying to finish the game too quickly. Those that have patience are less likely to be patients. Think about it. On to tomorrow!

LIVER

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

Pun Play: If you’re having trouble getting the answer, just FILTER your knees and pray!

My Gameplay: DONUT, SWEAR, RIVER, LIVER

The etymology on liver was quite an interesting read. If you’d like the cliff notes version:

-The LIVER was once believed to be the blood-producing organ of the body.

-It’s the largest organ in the human boday

-It’s about the size of a football.

You’re welcome. On to tomorrow!
