MY GAMEPLAY: DRAPE, MEATS, METAL

Wordle they think of next to try and stump us? It took 29 seconds to solve all thanks to my opening guess. I really wish it had lasted a bit longer because there really isn’t much to do at 4am. Maybe momsie is finishing up her last martini before bedding down for the night. Or it could be one of those mornings where she’s just getting started. I’ll fill you all in tomorrow. Adios!

MY GAMEPLAY: WATER, CLOTS, STUNG, PIVOT, TIPSY

My mother, who is quite fond of her extra-dirty martini’s, will be loving this answer. And, no, that is not her pictured above. But give her a few cocktails and who knows what you’ll see! My nephew once saw her stagger across my back lawn, quite like a pirate mind you, in an attempt to make it ashore after a lengthy voyage. But that’s a story for another day. Arrgghh”ll catch you matey’s tomorrow!

MY GAMEPLAY: STEAK, ALONE, GRADE, FARCE

Excellent challenge! I put my tablet down for a few hours after my third guess (GRADE) to think about my next move. It wasn’t quick, but the answer eventually came. Tomorrow’s guess will be BINGO. I like to occasionally put it down here so if I get lucky on my first try people will actually believe me. Enjoy your Thursday!

GECKO

MY GAMEPLAY: BLANK, REEKS, PECKY, GECKO

We’re at puzzle #325 — 1/4 of the way through the 300’s!!! The solution to this one sounded familiar to me, but looking back I have confirmed that it is indeed as fresh as they come. I knew my third guess, PECKY, was going to be wtong, but it was the only word I could think of that had a -Y at the end and ECK in the middle. ECK is also one of the many nicknames of my baseball idol, Dennis Eckersley, and the Eckism’s he spouts off while commentating for the game always give me a chuckle. Be well and Go Red Sox!!! (They need all the help they can get!)

MIDST

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Any delay of her counting would’ve CENTER over the edge!

MY GAMEPLAY: MAILS, MISER, MISTY, MIDST

A pretty challenging solve to kick off the weekend. There weren’t a lot of words to choose from that began with MI so MIDST came to mind fairly quick. My shoulder has been bothering me so I’m set to try JOINT tomorrow. It’d be something if it winds up being the solution. Enjoy your Saturday!

MY GAMEPLAY: CABLE, BATHE, BADGE

No trouble at all….. and on a Friday to boot! Overall, it’s been a relatively easy week except for yesterday’s answer of HOMER. I’m exhausted so I’ll keep this one short and sweet. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

HOMER

DEFINITIONETYMOLOGY

VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Did this puzzle take the UMPIRE morning to solve?

MY GAMEPLAY: CLOWN, STOOP, FORES, MODEM, HOMEY, HOMER

This one had me stumped for a lot longer than usual. And silly me, I had already discovered the R in FORES on my third try but didn’t notice that it was the letter I needed to finish it off. So frustrating!!! In terms of meaning, HOMER is mostly associated with baseball, and its etymology states that it started being used that way to describe a scoring run in the sport in 1946. Prior to that, in 1868 to be exact, the term HOMER began being used as a term to describe a pigeon ”trained to fly home from a distance.” Neat stuff. Enjoy your Thursday!
