MY STARTING WORD: TWINE
I got real lucky with my guess and started the solve with 4-letters! INERT doesn’t exactly roll of the tongue and I’m sure I would’ve had a hard time solving it without them. I’m exhausted today and will talk at you all tomorrow. Take care.

MY STARTING WORD: GAMES
Happy Saturday everyone! I’m a big fan of olives. My favorite kind are black olives but I’ll eat any of the many different varieties. My mother is quite fond of her dirty martinis when she accompanies us to dinner. I always cringe a bit when she asks our server to make them ”extra dirty.” I know it’s just olive brine, but those aren’t the words you want to hear coming out of your mother’s mouth. At least not my mother’s mouth. OLIVE it at that. Enjoy the weekend!

MY STARTING WORD: ANKLE
The good news was that I successfully stumbled upon three letters right out of the gate. The bad news was that noneof them were in the correct position. I had a much easier time with today’s puzzle than with yesterday’s brain buster. I mean, who in their right mind guesses an X?! After today’s solve I got to thinking about the many different ways one can use the word PLANT. You can PLANT a seed in your garden, you can PLANT evidence on someone, a PLANT manufactures or produces things, and, my favorite, you can PLANT yourself on the couch and watch TV all weekend long. Yup, I PETAL lot of effort into that one! (*groan!*] TGIF everyone!

MY STARTING WORD: YARNS
I think this is the first time that my starting word didn’t produce even one letter! With three vowels, I think those players that tried them first had the upper hand with this one. I had to go to the very end with this one which is quite unusual for a midweek puzzle. On to tomorrow!
My guesses: YARNS, POKED, DEMON, ODDLY, OUTED, OXIDE
Happy hump day everyone! I was moving right along with this one until I used RADIO as my third guess and had a hard time thinking of words with an A near the front and ending in O. It’s obviously clear when you solve it and I often find myself thinking “Why didn’t I think of that sooner?” after all is said and done. That ”AHA!” moment is what keeps me coming back to play every single day. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

MY STARTING WORD: SPARK
This one nearly knocked me out. I didn’t struggle getting the letters flowing, my problem was getting them in order. SPARK, TROVE, MOREL, BONER, COWER and finally FOYER were my plays. Phew!
Looking at the etymology of our solution, foier literally means “fireplace” in Old French. And a bit earlier, from Latin, we get focarium which means “having to do with the hearth.” Those big old homes of yore with enormous foyers probably had a couple of fireplaces in them. CORD you imagine the work it must’ve taken to keep them burning all night??? I’ll catch you right back here tomorrow!

MY STARTING WORD: GAMES
Happy Monday everyone! I didn’t think I was going to be able to get the puzzle finished this morning. My first 3 words (GAMES, AWARD and PRANK) left me playing with 2 letters and my first thought was that one of them would probably be doubled up. TRAIL was tried next and that’s when things started going in my favor. I must have sat thinking for about twenty minutes before I could come up with FLAIR. A nice challenge to get our week of solves started. Take care and have a good one.

MY STARTING WORD: SPOON
APPLE was on the tip of my tongue! I almost used it as my starter but went with the double O’s of SPOON instead. The rest of my guesses were PARTY, CAPED APPLE and then AMPLE. I’ll keep it short as it’s 2:23am on Easter morning. I happened to wake up and just had to play! Blessings to all and I’ll catch you tomorrow.

MY STARTING WORD: CHIRP
Happy Saturday everyone! I can imagine the woman up above in the visual description saying “JAW problems aren’t my concern, bro!” She sort of looks hung over-pissed too if you ask me. Let’s be kind though and give her a pass — it is Saturday morning after all, folks. And I tend to think I’m well versed in the reality of humanly vices! A bit of tongue-in-cheek humor to brighten your day and it didn’t cost you a nickel. You’re most welcome!
“THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE! YES, THANK YOU FOR THE APPLAUSE. I’LL BE HERE ALL WEEK. TRY THE VEAL!”
I was up quite early doing my morning yoga and was captivated by the CHIRP(s) emanating from the highest branches of the giant oak that silenty graces the east corner of my home. Yup — I knew which word I was going to start with! My next choice, CHALK, showed a K and I briefly thought back to the puzzle from last Wednesday where the answer was CHUNK. A bit of mental gymnastics with my remaining letters delivered my “Aha!” moment and my task was complete. It sure feels good completing a puzzle, and one with a double-letter sequence mind you, in only 3-tries! Until tomorrow, be well and do good!
TGIF everyone! I mentioned yesterday that I was going to try MINCE as my starting word and I was surprised to see that I got both an E and an M out of it. My next pick, PLUME, lined up the M & E, then FRAME gave me the A. I stumbled upon SHAME to seal the deal and solve today’s game in 4-clues. Hey, this is the 300th Wordle puzzle. Exciting stuff! Have an enjoyable weekend and be well.
